This bark edge black walnut wood bowl has some spalting in the sapwood below the natural edge. It looks like black magic marker doodles. The heartwood is a lovely chocolate brown with red highlights. Drying the bowls naturally takes 9-12 months but it keeps the vibrant colors. Kiln drying speeds up the process but significantly dulls the colors. Food safe, natural, oil finish.
